New single from The 1975

// THE 1975 //

The 1975 has been all the hype since their self-titled, debut album came out in 2013. Yesterday they released their long-awaited and very well promoted Indie pop single, "Love Me." It was full of 80's effects and melodies and rhythms that were reminiscent of David Bowie. Those of my friends that I've asked so far have had reactions on both ends. We're curious to know what you think this week. So leave a comment and let us know!

New Music From MuteMath

After three great albums and three years since any new material, MuteMath has surprised us again with a brilliant new single in anticipation of their upcoming album. The new song entitled "Monument" draws from aesthetic influences from Andy Warhol to John Hughes films. The lyrics, though more light-hearted than the bands previous efforts, are nonetheless very well written and have all brilliance of a great pop tune. Listen here.

Brandon Flowers from The Killers, Rolling Stone Interview

Brandon Flowers was recently interview by Rolling Stone and was very truthful about the fact that he thinks The Killers have lost some of their steam. They're a great rock band, one of the best of our generation. Check out the article here, and we hope that this great band will find their way again. Washington D.C. love their music.

Local Natives Recording New LP

Last week, Indie Band Local Natives posted a picture on their instagram of the space in the mountains where they are writing their next album. This is exciting for everyone in the Washington DC music scene as well as the whole country. They are a great band with sounds similar to Indie Rockers, Native Spirit. Keep a look out for their next LP!

Father John Misty, I Love You Honeybear

Father John Misty's new album isn't extremely different from his first album although it does involved slightly more of an electronic element to the mix. I don't think this similarity to his last record is a bad thing however, it's not like there's anyone else doing what he's doing. The 33 year old Washington D.C. native recently said in an interview that for the first time he's satisfied in the music he's making. Check out his tour dates here

New Passion Pit Single, "Let's Go, (Until We Can't)"

Passion Pit's newest single combines all of the things we love about electronic pop while bringing us back to the era of emo vocals that we loved so much in high school. Fans and newcomers alike will find something to love about this song. It reminds me of the sounds of Washington D.C. Indie band, Native Spirit. Just in time for summer parties and school being out. Check it out here.
